A notable update for the 2027 Rivian R1 models is the introduction of Esker Silver paint, a shade borrowed from the Rivian R2, replacing the former LA Silver. This new paint option is accessible across all trim levels and complements a range of revised interior themes. The interior nomenclature has been updated to align with the R2, offering distinct choices. Base R1 trims feature Black Mountain, characterized by black upholstery and dark ash wood accents, and Ocean Coast, which combines grey tones with dark ash wood. For higher trims, Slate Sky Signature presents grey hues with plaid detailing and walnut wood trim. Crucially, the R1S now offers second-row captain's chairs, a highly anticipated feature among Rivian clientele. This configuration includes a central pass-through, facilitating easy access to the third row without disturbing the captain's chairs or requiring the removal of car seats. Each captain's chair is equipped with a stowable armrest and a push-to-release cup holder. Both seats are heated and can fold flat, also featuring car seat tie-downs. For those preferring a seven-seat arrangement, the second-row bench remains available on the R1S Premium with the Black Mountain Signature interior, and on both Performance and Quad variants of the R1S, regardless of the chosen interior theme. The Premium trim, equipped with a dual-motor AWD system, delivers 533 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. An optional power upgrade boosts output to 665 hp and 829 lb-ft, reducing the 0-60 mph sprint to 3.4 seconds. A Long Range option extends the range to 410 miles for the R1S and 420 miles for the R1T. The Performance trim features a tri-motor powertrain, generating 850 hp and 1,103 lb-ft, achieving 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds with a range of up to 371 miles for both R1S and R1T. The top-tier Quad trim boasts four motors, providing 1,025 hp and 1,198 lb-ft, reaching 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and completing a quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds, with a range of up to 374 miles for both R1 variants.
For the new model year, the 2027 Rivian R1T now starts at $79,990, and the R1S begins at $83,990, excluding a destination fee of $1,895. Both models are now available for configuration on Rivian's official website, allowing customers to explore and customize their preferred electric adventure vehicles with these latest enhancements and streamlined options.
