The "Build the Beautiful Building!" quest in Pokémon Pokopia's Bubbly Basin DLC is a pivotal undertaking, guiding players through the intricate process of revitalizing an aquatic town by constructing a grand ocean temple. This quest not only involves strategic resource gathering and environmental preparation but also fosters interaction with various Pokémon, each presenting unique challenges and mini-quests that contribute to the larger goal. Successfully navigating these steps culminates in the town's restoration and the appearance of a legendary creature.

To achieve this, players must meticulously clear the designated construction site, engage with several Pokémon characters, and fulfill their individual requests. These tasks range from solving environmental puzzles to participating in playful interactions, all while collecting essential building components. The journey requires dedication, exploration, and a keen eye for detail, ultimately rewarding the player with a thriving underwater community and the chance to welcome a mythical Pokémon into their fold.

Building the Ocean Temple: Initial Steps and Pokémon Requests

Embarking on the "Build the Beautiful Building!" quest in Pokémon Pokopia requires players to first reach environment level three, prompting Popplio to initiate the construction of an ocean temple. The initial phase involves clearing sand and grass from the building site, a process that progressively reveals the construction area. This sets the stage for a series of interlinked tasks that contribute to the temple's completion, emphasizing environmental restoration and community building within the Bubbly Basin.

Following the site preparation, players must address specific requests from several Pokémon to advance. Corphish may require a structure, Corsola offers lessons in farming, and Mareanie guides pearl cleaning. Totodile presents a playful challenge at the wrecked bridge, involving a game of 'look that way' before leading players to activate a bubble machine and construct a 'fluffy relaxation' habitat for Chinchou. Frillish, found in a northwest cave, needs assistance exploring its lair and locating a hidden Starmie doll. These diverse requests not only contribute to the main quest but also enrich the player's experience by introducing unique mini-adventures and deepening their engagement with the game's world and characters.

Gathering Resources and Finalizing Construction

After assisting the initial group of Pokémon, the quest progresses to finding Barboach north of the ocean temple site. Barboach's request involves diving into a nearby pit to retrieve its seashell seat, located on the east side of a dark area. Players are advised to craft mushroom lamps or collect lampions to illuminate the path. Upon returning the seat, Barboach then requests the creation of an 'ocean rest spot' habitat, which, once completed, marks the fulfillment of its tasks and further contributes to the overall building effort. This segment highlights exploration and resourcefulness as key elements of the quest.

The culmination of the quest involves gathering a specific list of materials and bringing together various Pokémon. Players need to collect 50 star-spotted rocks, 30 stones, 25 seashells, and 10 shiny pearls, with the new Dream Island, accessible via a Starmie doll, being an excellent source for these resources. Additionally, two ocean doors and 10 seashell fences, whose recipe can be purchased from the shop, must be constructed. Once all materials are deposited at the ocean temple building kit and the specified Pokémon (Corphish, Corsola, Mareanie, Totodile, Frillish, Barboach, and nine others) are present, construction can commence. After an hour's wait, the magnificent ocean temple is complete, and entering it reveals the mythical Pokémon Manaphy, who can then be invited to reside in Bubbly Basin, signifying the successful completion of this grand endeavor.
