In a significant announcement that captivated Milan Fashion Week, Donatella Versace revealed her return to the creative helm through a groundbreaking joint venture with the Los Angeles-based Revolve Group Inc. This new independent enterprise is meticulously crafted to embody Versace's unique artistic vision, focusing on engaging a new generation's approach to discovering style, experiencing culture, shopping, sharing, and connecting.

This development follows a period of notable transitions for Versace. In March 2025, as part of a brand repositioning under Capri Holdings, Versace had stepped down from her nearly three-decade tenure as chief creative officer of her eponymous brand, a role she assumed after her brother's passing in 1997. She subsequently took on the position of chief brand ambassador. The interim also saw Prada Group acquire Versace last December, and the creative leadership shifted from Dario Vitale to Pieter Mulier after one season.

At 71, Donatella Versace's influence continues to span across generations. Her formidable online presence, boasting 12.2 million Instagram followers, is mirrored by her offline impact. Memorable appearances, such as her cameo in The Devil Wears Prada 2, and the enduring allure of her vintage designs frequently gracing red carpets, exemplify her lasting appeal. Celebrities like Zendaya, Miley Cyrus, and Jennifer Lopez have recently showcased iconic Atelier Versace creations, underscoring Versace's indelible mark on fashion history, notably with the legendary plunging gown Lopez wore to the Grammys in 2000, which famously spurred the creation of Google Image Search.

The collaboration with Revolve Group, a California-based fashion and lifestyle retailer, seeks to leverage this widespread recognition. Founded in 2003 by Michael Mente and Mike Karanikolas, Revolve Group has expanded its online presence to feature 1,600 brands across two platforms: Revolve, for established labels, and Fwrd, for emerging designers. The company reported a total revenue of $1.23 billion in 2025 and has previously made headlines with joint ventures, including a beauty category entry with pop star Cardi B and a collaboration with influencer Sofia Richie Grainge.

Michael Mente, co-founder and co-CEO of Revolve Group, lauded Versace, noting, "Donatella is one of the defining creative voices of our time. This partnership gives that vision an entirely new platform and the freedom to build something from the ground up." The new brand is set to launch across the United States, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East, with the first products and the brand name expected to be unveiled in 2027. The project's broad scope and ambitious vision extend beyond traditional runway presentations, encompassing various forms of entertainment. Versace articulated her philosophy, stating, "I believe creativity should be fearless, inclusive, and alive in the world. I have always been inspired by the next generation, in music, film, art and, of course, fashion. This partnership gives me the freedom to speak to that generation in a completely new and personal way, through beauty and fashion."
