Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) represents an advanced progression of MRP systems, offering a more encompassing solution for an entire organization. While MRP primarily focuses on planning and controlling material resources, ERP integrates a wider array of business functions, such as financial management, customer relationship management, and sales order processing, into a single, cohesive system. MRP can operate as an independent application or as an integral module within a larger ERP framework. ERP systems consolidate various business needs into one solution, thereby reducing data redundancy and enhancing features like user-level security.
