This significant price adjustment for the Xbox Series S follows earlier announcements from Microsoft regarding price increases in the US market, but the specifics for Europe and the UK were disclosed more recently. This puts the Xbox Series S at a higher price point than the Nintendo Switch 2 for the remainder of August, creating a unique market situation where the Switch 2 offers a more cost-effective entry into current-generation gaming.
